National Parks in Croatia

There are eight declared national parks in Croatia, that is areas of splendid natural characters, which embraces one or more preserved or by human use bit modified ecosystems. Single traditional farming and tourist-recreational activities are allowed.

National Park Plitvice

Alternatively, the beauty of the Plitvice lakes National Park lies down in its sixteen lakes which are inter-connected by a assortment of waterfalls. These waterfalls are set in wild woodland which is habitation to a diversity of wildlife, including exceptional bird species, bears, wolves, and deer.

Another National Park in Croatia is the Brijuni islands which were declared as a national park over twenty years ago. There are a sum of islands which represent the park, the biggest being the Veliki and Mali Brijuni. The islands are a oasis of unspoiled nature pockets which form a natural home to a safari park and a zoological garden. There are also traces of ancient Neolithic inhabitation have been discovered on the island but one of the most glorious archaeological sites here is the pre-historic village on Gradina hill.
